Every now and then a new artist comes along and seems to captivate the listener's ear with genuine creativity and a truly unique sound. Lavell Jones is that artist.
Lavell (born September 21, 1991 in Columbus, Georgia) is a multi-talented musician from El Paso, Texas. His musical influences include artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Lauryn Hill, John Lennon, and Pharrell Williams. He is a member of the Rare Individuals along with Josh Brown, and Derrell Peoples & Andy C of D.N.A.
Music intrigued Lavell from a young age, and he taught himself how to play the drums when he was only 7. Later, he taught himself to play the piano, his personal favorite instrument.
Lavell began his professional career right after graduating high school. He released his first studio mixtape entitled “No More Shenanigans” on August 8, 2011.
His solo endeavors along with the multiple features he's done with his crew, the Rare Individuals, have kept Lavell busy in the music scene. His most recently released work "SEARCHING..." the album was released Sept 2013. Lavell is currently working on his next solo project, along with an EP with music producers "The Heavy Heads".
